Hooligans
Have I mentioned that for all but 3 days in Uzbekistan my sister and I were illegal? Every night spent in the country requires registration-hotels will take care of that for you (and provide receipts). In instances of patronizing someone's home, you must register with the local police. I was legal the 3 days I stayed in Samarkand because I hotel'd it. That is all. Fortunately, the border guards had no interest in asking to see our non-existent receipts when we left the country, thoguh I think they are supposed to.
